Outreach Ministry

Since our formation in 1981, Christ the Servant Lutheran Church has a rich history of serving and sharing Christ's saving message in the Allen community. Our theme is "God's Work, Our Hands." T-shirts show our community that they will know us by our love and service. We wear our evangelism and commitment on our sleeves and backs with our church logo as a re minder when we step out to serve our community.
The Outreach Ministry also participates in the City of Allen Tree Lighting in December, City of Allen Eggstravaganza around Easter and the City of Allen Christmas Parade.
Christ the Servant sponsors other organizations that meet in our building such as Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Early Childhood PTA, the Allen Community Band and a local Indonesian Lutheran Church.

Social Ministry

Our committee provides opportunities for people in the congregation to come together to enjoy social events. We have an annual outing to the Frisco Rough Riders baseball game; we enjoy trips to the Eiseman Center to see comedy shows. We have a presence at the annual Christmas Tree lighting event in Allen as well as the Rotary sponsored Christmas parade in Allen where we hand out snack bags of candy attached to a flyer promoting our church and services . Another opportunity for visibility is the Easter Eggcellent Adventure, also in Allen, where we get to interact with over 3000 parents and children gathering Easter eggs. The committee interacts with all of the other committees to help plan and promote activities and events that bring us altogether.

Men's Ministry

Da' Guys is the men's group at Christ the Servant. We have several traditions that we do every year including cooking Easter breakfast, the valentine's outing and the annual weekend retreat at the Federle lake house. During the year we will have several events that revolve around golf, getting together at a members' house, or playing cards. The group is also involved in helping the church when muscle is needed. One of the staples of the group is Bible study every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.

Family Promise

Family Promise of Collin County is a network of congregations that work together in our area for the same purpose. Christ the Servant is one of fourteen host congregations in the local Family Promise network. Host congregations participate by providing overnight lodging and meals for three to five families, up to 14 persons, for one week every three months on a rotating basis. Our hospitality as a host congregation provides a safe place for families to stay as they get back on their feet.
