Silent Film | The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923)

On Saturday, September 23 at 7 pm, organist Benjamin Kolodziej will accompany the 1923 silent film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church.
Based on Victor Hugo's 1831 novel, this American romantic drama film stars Lon Chaney as Quasimodo, the hunchbacked bell ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral. 
Popcorn and beverages will be for sale before the film begins.

 DFW Brass & Organ Concert

Featuring DFW Brass and Jordan Smith, organist

October 29, 2017 marks the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. What better way to celebrate than with an organ and brass concert, featuring one of the top brass ensembles in North Texas!
Join us on Sunday, October 29 at 7 pm for a concert featuring DFW Brass and Jordan Smith, organist. The concert will include music for brass and organ, as well as organ solos and brass ensemble pieces. You can be sure to hear some Bach and sing Martin Luther's famous hymn, A Mighty Fortress Is Our God with organ and brass at full tilt!

Allen Community Jazz Band Christmas Concert

On Saturday, December 9, the Allen Community Jazz Band, under the direction of Keith Petersen, will perform a concert at Christ the Servant. The concert will feature Christmas tunes you know and love in exciting jazz arrangements.

 Northeastern State University Singers Concert

Sunday, February 4, 2018 | 7:00 pm
On Sunday, February 4 at 7 pm, The University Singers, from Northeaster State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma will perform a concert at Christ the Servant under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Wall.
The University Singers is the premiere touring choral ensemble at NSU, and represents the most skilled singers on campus. This ensemble performs fine repertoire that spans from medieval times to present day, in a variety of genres and styles. They will be on tour in February 2018, culminating in a performance as prelude choir for the North Texas Metroplex Children’s Choir at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. They are under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Wall, who serves as the Chair of the Department of Music and the Director of Choral Studies.

Cast of Bronze Handbell Ensemble Concert

On Sunday, May 20 at 7 pm, Dallas-based handbell ensemble, Cast of Bronze, will perform a concert at Christ the Servant.
Cast of Bronze is an auditioned community handbell ensemble and will be performing original handbell compositions, marches, classical and sacred music, and other familiar tunes.
Come and join us for a fun-filled informal and interactive concert that is free and open to the public. See and hear the largest and smallest handbells ever manufactured. Following the concert members of the audience will be invited to come and ring bells or chimes and ask questions of the ringers and director.
Cast of Bronze performs on 331 handbells and chimes including: 7 and a half octaves of American made Schulmerich handbells, 6 octaves of Malmark Choir Chimes, 5 octaves of English made Whitechapel handbells, 3 octaves of Dutch made Petit and Fritsen handbells, 3 octaves of BoomWhackers and 2.5 octaves of DeskSet bells, and two octaves of R.H. Mayland handbells manufactured in the 1880s.
