Pastor Cheryl Herreid

Pastor Cheryl Herreid has been the pastor and spiritual leader of Christ the Servant since October 2023.  She and her family are delighted to be part of our wonderful Christian community.  Cheryl has a passion for proclaiming God’s love for all, extending beyond the four walls of the building, and is particularly excited about the ways Christ the Servant serves the local community of Allen.

Before Christ the Servant, Cheryl was in various leadership roles at Rejoice Lutheran Church of Coppell.  As their Vicar she focused on discipleship development, leading worship, and social ministry, while completing seminary studies at Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.

Prior to entering ministry, Cheryl was in corporate roles including HR with a concentration in leadership and organizational development, and information technology consulting. Cheryl and her husband Bob have two daughters, one who lives and works in Fort Worth and one completing high school.

"For much of my life, becoming a pastor was not on my list of goals.  I didn’t grow up in the church, I didn’t even know Jesus until I was about 18 years old.  But when you start to walk with Jesus personally - investing time, reading scripture daily, listening, following - there is no telling where God will lead you.  After a career in corporate America and an experience with loss that only the Lord could have led me out of, God kept tapping on my shoulder to follow him, and a twenty-year journey has led us to Christ the Servant in Allen, TX. Christ the Servant is a wonderfully welcoming, engaging community with a big heart for Allen!  We have a long history in this town with hundreds of children graduating from Sunday School and confirmation over forty years.  Our church looks different from what it did when we planted our roots forty years ago, but God is no less faithful.  We are excited to see how God is calling us to be a Servant in this community in 2025 and beyond!"
Faithfully, Pastor Cheryl
